Na początku sądzono, że problem dotyczy jedynie długich ekspozycji, szczególnie z silnym źródłem skierowanym na bagnet od dołu (LINK).
Potem okazało się, że nie tylko i problem pojawia się również przy świetle błyskowym i czasach ok. 1/60s (LINK).
Mnie również coś tknęło, bo od początku używania A7 przy zdjęciach studyjnych miałem odrobinkę słabszy kontrast, niż przy tych robionych Panasonikiem G1. No, ale używałem głównie Sigm, a nie są to mocarze pod światło, więc na początku sprawę zbagatelizowałem.
Dziś jednak zrobiłem mały teścik - podpiąłem Sony E 20mm f/2.8 i zrobiłem po kilka zdjęć z bagnetem odsłoniętym i zasłoniętym (czarną gumką do włosów - sposób stąd: LINK). Jedną z lamp błyskowych umieściłem pod aparatem tak, by jak najmocniej oświetlała wrażliwe miejsce - to oczywiście nie jest normalne ustawienie, ale chciałem, by wyraźnie było widać różnicę. Zrobiłem po 3 zdjęcia i wybrałem te o średnim (ani największym, ani najmniejszym) kontraście. Wszystkie zdjęcia były robione przy następujących ustawieniach: 1/125s, f/16, ISO100.
Many of you may have heard of a light leak problem in Sony A7/A7r cameras (the mount can be pressed down a little bit and some light leaks through the mount even when a lens/body cap is on). At first it was believed to happen only when using a long exposure, especially with a strong source of light placed below the camera (LINK).
Then it proven that it may happen while using a strobe and an exposure of 1/60s (LINK).
I also noticed a slightly weaker contrast with my A7 studio shots compared to these taken with my good old Panasonic G1 camera but I was blaming my Sigma lenses for not coping with flares very well. However, I made a small test today - I used my Sony 20mmm f/2.8 E-mount lens to take several studio photos with the camera mount bare and covered with a hair tie (a tip form here: LINK). One of the flash lamps was placed below the camera to light the vulnerable place strongly - not an usual setting but I wanted to show the potential difference clearly. I took 3 pictures with a hair tie and without it and chose the middle contrast ones. All the photos were taken using the following settings: 1/125s, f/16, ISO100.

Jak widać, różnica jest spora. Sony zna problem i pracuje nad rozwiązaniem (LINK), a do tego czasu radzę mieć przy sobie gumkę do włosów, jeśli zamierzacie pracować w warunkach, gdzie takie niechciane naświetlenie możne wystąpić ;-)
As you can see, the difference is clearly noticeable. Sony says they know the problem and are working on a solution () but until then I strongly advise to have a hair tie with you if you're planning to shot in conditions when this problem may occur ;-)
